Our definition of education is broad: we believe in our Core Values; we believe that learning takes place in the classroom, in the studio, on the playing fields and at home; we believe that a focused elementary and middle school experience is the best beginning to a successful academic career.

"We believe that a focused elementary and middle school experience is the best beginning to a long and successful academic career."

We believe in a strong partnership between home and school, and we work together with one goal in mind: what is best for your child.

Local parents, community members and staff members of Manchester Youth Development Center (MYDC), a 30 year old North Side youth education center, developed the school. This group saw a need for a more personalized education for the children of the North Side through MYDC's after and summer school programs. These core beliefs and values of the school community continue to be the basis for MACS concentrated effort to offer quality school programs and an environment that provides students with a sound educational foundation which to prepare our students for the future challenges.

Manchester Academic Charter School has been honored with one of the country’s coveted Blue Ribbon awards for school excellence, the U.S. Department of Education announced September 9, 2008. The award is part of the No Child Left Behind-Blue Ribbon Schools Program, which recognizes public and private schools that are either academically superior in their states or demonstrate significant gains in student achievement.
